Madison gutierrez

Madison Gutierrez is a communications junior at Texas A&M University-San Antonio, minoring in creative arts and performance studies. She graduated with her associate from San Antonio College in the spring of 2023. When she’s not in class she searches for new artists or podcasts to listen to. If the weather is good, she takes her painting outside. Upon graduating, she hopes to go into the field of public relations and continue honing her craft in art.

Melanie Reyes

Melanie Reyes is a communications junior with a minor in Creative Arts and Performance Studies. She joined El Espejo to gain experience in the magazine and media field. After she graduates in the fall of 2024, she plans on becoming a writer while also working with design and music.

samuel rocha

Samuel Rocha is a junior at A&M-San Antonio studying communications while also minoring in business administration. Rocha recently transferred from SAC and wanted to jump right into the media outlets on campus. Starting at El Espejo, Rocha seeks out the experience of writing in an award-winning magazine while improving his technical skills. Rocha is also a part of Enlace Radio hosting multiple shows each week for A&M-San Antonio. He hopes to continue this path in the field of communications and succeed as a multimedia journalist.

Amanda Nicole Aguillon is a communications major at Texas A&M University-San Antonio minoring in English Literature. She transferred from San Antonio College in October 2022. When she is not going to class she works at Cracker Barrel, where she is a restaurant hostess for the restaurant. In her spare time, she enjoys watching movies and attending concerts. After graduating in the summer of 2024 she hopes to have a successful career as a social media manager.

Marley Walker

Marley Walker is a communications sophomore at Texas A&M University-San Antonio minoring in business administration. In addition to being a full-time student, she recently began writing for El Espejo magazine to sharpen her writing skills and engage with the San Antonio community. In the late fall, she will begin working as a barista at a new business opening in her hometown called Stout’s Cold Brew & Coffee. To continue fulfilling her love for coffee, she also works at Tandem, a beer, wine and coffee shop local to campus. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to live music, shopping at second-hand stores and supporting local businesses. Upon graduating, she hopes to explore the world as a journalist.

Alex Plata is a second year at Texas A&M University-San Antonio majoring in communications. Alex enjoys listening to music, attending concerts and reading in her spare time. After graduating, Alex hopes to pursue a career in music journalism.

Daniela Rodriguez is a communication major senior with a minor in Spanish. She has always felt a strong connection to writing as it became a major outlet for her to voice feelings, opinions and thoughts. She recently joined El Espejo to further pursue her love for writing and having it as an advantage for when she graduates in the Spring of 2024. Aside from writing, she also currently interns for a local non-profit in San Antonio as a public relations and community outreach intern. She hopes to dive into the world of Public Relations and/or Marketing.

dakota markgraf

Dakota Markgraf is a senior majoring in English Literature at Texas A&M University- San Antonio. When she is not in class, she usually spends her time reading books from any genre and spending time with her family. She enjoys attending church with her father and her boyfriend every Sunday. After graduation, she hopes to further her education in hopes of becoming a lawyer or a librarian. 

Illustrator

Omar is a senior communications major with a minor in business administration. He is also currently in the TAMUSA Esports program, playing in their Super Smash Bros Ultimate league under the name PiCPAC. Omar was brought onboard the Espejo Magazine team as an illustrator for the magazine. Along with being employed with the magazine, he is also an employee at the Regal Quarry Theater where he can be found performing various tasks. In his free time he likes to draw various characters born from his feverish imagination, play video games, preferably classic Namco arcade titles, cook, or just watch some cartoons.
